They've been gone for awhile now. I had one book purchased from B&N that could only be opened and read in their Nook Study. I bought it a few years ago but I got a refund on the book. They have some new software they originally sent me to for customer support, Yuzu, which didn't work on the book (not sure if they're still using Yuzu). I finally hunted down old copies of Nook Study and Nook for PC in case I ever need to reinstall.
