... before I can legitimately post a link?
I just had a link deleted that linked to a site which was linking to a third site offering pirated content. My reason for posting the link was to prove that the second site, let's call it the
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dumber Forums allowed links to pirate sites.
Of course deleting my link made sense, because it took you to a pirate site in just two clicks. But, on the other hand, how could I prove that said site was linking to a pirate site? A screenshot would have revealed the web address of the pirate site and would have been just as bad as the link.
So could I have linked to the
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dumber Forums in general and let readers look around for the pirate site link there? They would have been there in three or four clicks instead of two.
But that would be true of any link to the
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dumber Forums, wouldn't it? And, with just one extra click, to the affiliated
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dumber Rumour Mill and
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dumber Rip-Off Emporium. So shouldn't any links from MR to sites belonging to the
Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dumber Empire be illegal?
Not trying to be daft here. Actually, not having to see any links from here to the Tweedles might be rather nice...
