I haven't purchased any of their books, though, to be able to comment on the quality of what is there (recipe- or formatting-wise).

No, I haven't tried any of their books.
I did purchase this book for myself, though. But I haven't had a chance to look through it.
Is this similar to what Encore does? Speaking of which, I haven't seen any of their books marked down in quite some time. They quit about the time that we had all of the discussion about them 5 or 6 months ago, coincidentally(?).
"Steal" . . . . I wouldn't necessarily go that far. I don't think that every cookbook has to have all original recipes (about the only ones that I know who do that are
Cooks Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen)? I think that it's fine if cookbooks take recipes from the recipe books of others, but they should give credit when they do. My main issue, I think, with Encore and Callistomedia is that they don't do it, apparently. And that seems way too much like plagiarism.
It's interesting to me that Callistomedia openly shares what its tactics are.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep a wary eye out for more of Callistomedia's books.
