If you shortly touch "Filemanager" on the top of the screen, a menu will open, touch the home symbol (a house) to exit.

From what you say above it seems this change is not necessary for your device. That Koreader does not work now however, is not related to this change, but maybe something other in input.lua has changed (maybe your editor save it in a different format or something like that).Maybe it is also somehow related to forcing the device to power off. Anyway, you can delete the koreader folder and copy the original newly to the device.
