It looks like my computer monitor has died. In the morning whilst getting dressed I always let my computer start. This morning it made all the right sounds, but when I looked the screen was black and the power light was off.

I'm going to test the monitor with a new cable later, but I doubt the cable is the problem. Hopefully my father's got a spare monitor somewhere that I can borrow.

I had already planned to start looking for a new, slightly bigger monitor. Mine is over 10 years old and was developing cracks in the bezel from the corner of the screen outward.

It does give me a chance to clean up my desk, also behind the monitor and finally get rid of the huge subwoofer standing behind it. That speaker system died a couple of years ago but I couldn't be bothered to remove the subwoofer.
