Do you keep your kindle in Airplane mode and sideload updates? If so, try connecting your Kindle to Internet and let it sync with amazon. Kindle is prone to some database corruption that only fixes itself when on line. (in my case, I've had several times where the order of books on home page doesn't update with the newest book I opened at the top.)
