Creating .COV files for eReader - Help!

Guys

Just bought a Icarus Omnia G2 reader (or M701BK) which is recognized by Calibre as a "Aluratek Color". Works fine, except for the cover art/images in the library screen of the device. It will only display the cover art once you have opened the book. I like to preview the covert art *before* I open an ePub...

Did some research and appaerantly the device creates a .cov file once you open the book...

So i tried to find out what kind of image this is. I was hoping it was just a renamed .jpg file. Not the case.

My question: can Calibre create such a file? I use Calibre for my book management. And if not - any other software which creates these files?

Many thanks!

Theo.
