The specs of the Iliad look very similar to the GumStix board that ship with the eInk Developer kit. It would not surprize me if they simply have stuck the same board in the Iliad. You can download the SDK for the eInk kit on the eInk web site. Maybe a good starting point for hacking the Iliad.
