In your opinion.
I guess I'm spoiled by the Nook Simple Tough. It has both buttons and a touchscreen. I tend to hold the reader in the bottom, left corner. It is very convenient and comfortable to use the page turn button to go forward and tap the left side of the screen to go back. Tap zones and swiping won't make up for that.
I'm not a Luddite. When my NST gives up the ghost, I'll buy a new reader and adapt. But I seriously doubt I will come to see the new experience as 'better.' Not without some Winston Smith 'He loved Big Brother' conversion therapy.
