I have an Aura H2O. I assume they choose the IR touchscreen in this model because they can handle water droplets droplets more easily. (I also have a water-resistant mobile phone with capacitive multi-touch screen - completely unusable with water droplets on screen. I could take underwater photos, however as there is a physical button for that).
This hypothesis however does not explain the other (non water resistant) model.
Anyway, I have no problem with the IR touch detector.
