Looks like a destruction free process to me. Very un-like the H2O.
If the alternative is paying a lot more money (for the H2O) or getting an outdated device (Aura is completely fine if you already have it but you won't buy it new if you want the latest generation display) or a different brand (which?) this is a fine option.

you shouldn't have to do it in the first place, i suggest we agree to disagree, if and when kobo bring out a device with similar dimensions to the aura with 8GB of storage bulit in and reinstate the micro sd slot i will buy it.
