A cowboy rides into town and notices the streets seem empty. He stops next to an old man sitting on a rocker in front of the saloon and asks, "Where is everybody?"
The old man replies, "They've all gone to see the hanging."
"Who are they hanging?"
"Brown Paper Pete," the old man replies.
"What kind of a name is that?" the cowboy asks.
"Well, he wears a brown paper hat, a brown paper shirt, brown paper trousers and brown paper shoes."
"What are they hanging him for?"
"Rustling," said the old man.
