When I fetch the data from the database for book details I build a structure that contains all the base metadata. This involves several 4-line database queries that are *almost* exactly the same. I copied the one from comments to do series but messed up editing one place. Bottom line: a book will have its comments if it is a member of a series. Most of my books are in a series so I never saw it.

Thanks to all of you, and especially Purple Lady for sending me her metadata.db and the name of a failing book. That immensely simplified finding the problem.

BTW: I found and fixed another problem because there are no covers in the library made with Purple Lady's metadata.db. What would have been a rare crash case caused by missing cover files became relatively common.

A release is forthcoming.
