After almost 4 weeks on 2 GloHD I found the following (could be firmware related) the device doesn't react that good compared with the normal glo on swipes.
I use the device often in bed and with one handed reading just a swipe with the thumb was enough on the normal Glo, on the Glo HD I have to make almost a half circle movement to swipe and even then it often doesn't respond.
It is not the device itself because when i use 2 hands, just tapping works like a charm,the swiping is difficult.
Sometimes the slim fit covers doesn't wake up the device,or bring it into sleep when the same cover on the normal Glo works perfect.
Is the glass thicker maybe ??
When opening an ebook for the first time it is almost if the device doesn't recognize that I tapped on the icon, sometimes it takes 3 seconds or more to open, with kepub it is much more quick.
Some other things in random sequence,
I have load the device with about 35 books, but only 2 show up with new on the frontpage, there is a lot more page for tiles,but it doesn't put them there.
So there are about 6 or 8 tiles on the frontpage,the rest is empty.
By accident, I enabled a book where only the cover was downloaded by the sync (the book is still on Kobo's server) the tile of that book is still on the front page "waiting for download",but the cover itself is out of the library, I can ignore the tile, but not cancel the download.
When wake up the device, the txt is a bit faded.
Tapping twice on the screen does make it a little bit better but the only way to get my screen back is by opening the Aa menu, change a bit with the font slider,then the page is rendered again.
A refresh when waking from sleep would be great.
On Epub,changing pages is a lot slower so I went to kepub,but even patched there is a marging on the top that is about 5 or 6 mm, so there is less txt on a page then with epub.
Many times, at the end of a book (kepub) the device hangs while it has to return to the main menu, but the stupid thing is,when you open a book, go to the last page,then tap it,it returns without hanging the device, I only noticed it while reading. (on both devices,running on 3.16)
I think software depended, but there are no games at all in the betasection,only the browser is there.
I read reports about available chess or other games in 3.16 but there are none.
The glare of the bezel is annoying in sun or bright light.
Pro: magnificent screen,bright text like a real book.
The normal Glo is responding slower in hot temperatures,bulding the screen is really slow, the Glo HD doesn't care about it,it is the same speed.
Battery life is more then the normal Glo, (but not as much as they tell us, it isn't 2 times a Glo)
The light is devided more equally on the device, with my old glo and Aura HD there are spots that more lightned then others. (where the Aura HD has a bit more a yellow glare the white)
Overall, I am happy with both Glo HD, but there are still some issues..
