As well as comparing to the paper version of an ebook there is also the factor of comparing to similar ebooks, same genre same quality of writing, by other authors and publishers. If an author I like as well or even better has books available at a lower price I tend to go first for the author/publisher that has lower priced books. I can pick up the higher priced ones later if the price drops or if I run out of other appealing possibilities. I almost never have a circumstance where there is one and only one book I want to read. My problem is the opposite, there are so many authors, titles that I want to read that I'll never have time for them all.
