I'd be amazed if a lot of the reviews are legit. They can say verified purchase, but we can't prove anything differently.
I have a friend that bought one of these. It doesn't understand her most of the time, it turns itself off, plays music at random times, and rarely finds the prime playlist she asks for. She usually has to use the app on her phone to select her prime playlists. Often it plays the first song and then cuts out. She has to use the app to choose her Audible book also. Either she got a defective unit or the quality control isn't great.
Her place is quiet... no kids... nothing to interfere with it. Makes me glad I didn't keep the Echo shipped to me.
