I've made a few omnibus books of works in the past myself and I can't say for certain that all are totally free of errors, but one thing differs. I didn't charge anyone anything for them. I think if someone is selling a omnibus collection of an author's works that they owe it to the purchasers of said book to make it as clean a copy as they can. Which isn't to say free copies can be as choc full of mistakes as the poster wants either. Still there is a difference in expectation when you pay $ for a book I think.
Amazon is slipping a bit. I sent a complaint off the same day about the book in the OP and I still haven't heard a peep. Not only that the book which was .99 is now $1.99 to purchase!

Edit 2: I have just sent off a follow up email asking them why I didn't hear a reply to my issue and why the faulty book hasn't been fixed/pulled but instead has gone up in price.
