Believe me I thought about crowd funding but everyone and their cat seem to be doing it right now, at least locally. There might be a 401k that can be tapped into. I have a ruby I could sell. Some guns and oriental carpets I could maybe get loans on. Not willing to part with those.

I was hoping there might be something specific to water that someone might know of.
I remember THIS from a development I did back in.....2005?..that needed some funding for a big, commercial well. We didn't qualify, but I remember the program: http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-serv...-grant-program . The VA has well-drilling and water loans for old broads like us, that served, but, KK, if memory serves, it's the usual turnaround time for them, so...ALSO, go to this page: http://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-serv...-system-grants and (no, no, don't be hasty), scroll down to the part that says "Note: Homeowners seeking a loan should contact us for details on non-profits participating in this program." That might help, if they have a non-prof that could help, even if it's only partial. IIRC, most of these have fairly sweet repayment terms.

Still and all, I won't have water for a week yet. I bought 50 gallons last night. I'm hauling water out of the pond for the veggies and toilets. Going to a friend's house tonight for the first shower in 4 days. I've done 2 weeks without in the Army so this isn't too bad. I know I'm going to have to hit the laundromat soon which I loathe. And then there's the dishes.
Lord. I'm more worried about your critters and dishes than the whole "no bathing thing," as anyone who ever served has gone at LEAST two weeks without, and has extraordinary expertise in ho-baths. I assume you've put out a solar catch, and that you have a rainbarrel ready, just in case?
