You don't need a second hand to read on a Reader with a touch screen I can read easily using one hand be it the left or the right. I just use my thumb to do a nice simple swipe and the page is turned. If you try to press instead of swipe, you won't be able to turn the page with your left hand. However, it is much easier to hold the Reader when the Reader is in a good cover. Holding by the bezel does not give enough room and you will end up turning pages when you do not want to.

The biggest feature the DX is missing is KF8 support. That means you don't get the newer more advanced eBook format that is similar to ePub. For the amount of money Amazon is charging for the DX, not being able to use a firmware that supports KF8 is (IMHO) objectionable.
