A couple issues with the Viewer

I'm using the calibre Book Viewer to read a fairly long book for the first time. It's a "scholarly" book, with lots of footnotes. Some of the footnotes have footnotes.

Issue #1: I have a problem that some others have reported before; the viewer occasionally cuts lines in half at the page break. Like there will be the top part of a line at the bottom of the page, and when I flip to the next page, the bottom part of the split line will be at the top. I've tried some things suggested by others (changing fonts, changing font sizes) but this still happens.

Issue #2: I absolutely HATE the way a footnote is opened in a separate little window. Mainly because the secondary window seems incapable of displaying all of the footnote! If there's anything in the footnote not in plain text (e.g., highlighting, another footnote reference) it doesn't show up until I click the right arrow that makes the main screen jump to the footnote section. I would MUCH prefer that clicking a footnote would just jump the entire page to the footnotes, letting me return to the text with the backarrow button (as the Amazon PC reader does, for example). I don't suppose there's any way of configuring this?
