Really hate that type example. The "quietly" looked okay but the ligature version of "first" just sucks. What the heck was that thing the f and the used-to-be-an-i turned into? Sure wasn't any English letter that I know of?
Guess maybe it's a good thing I won't be getting a Kindle after all.
