The actual speakers are 2x2 flat flexible squares so they are just like the head band. If you get the wireless version, the battery/Bluetooth module is fairly small and flat, padded by the band, and can be positioned where it's least in the way for the way you sleep. My wife has no problem with it. She also pulls the head band over her eyes as a sleepmask so I can turn on the lights when I get up without disturbing her.
