IIRC, the old Ostrander-written Martian Manhunter series was generally pretty good (I have a chunk of the back issues from a long ago local comic shop discount bin sale). It's probably been completely invalidated by all the reboots since then, but it's got solid storytelling and some thoughtful stuff done with the character and his situation. Maybe try the #0 origin issue and perhaps the first story-arc and see if you like Ostrander's take on things?

I haven't read all that much of the Conner/Palmiotti Power Girl series, but the issues I have in the TPB were cute and funny and nicely entertaining (cartoony art may or may not be to your taste), and this is something I think I would personally buy if I were into buying digital comics from the Big 2 (still prefer TPBs for stuff I consider "keepers", especially when the digital has DRM involved).

Long, long ago, I did at some point read the Devin Grayson-written Arsenal mini-series, and it was an okay piece of mostly character-based storytelling with enough of an action/adventure component which delved into Roy's then-current insecurities while giving him places to go and people to beat up. I don't know whether or not it would hold up all that much on its own these days, but ISTR it being at least mildly fun with some amusing dialogue/situation moments, and it tied into Grayson' Titans run at the time, so if you're interested in the character history (probably also wiped out by reboot) or liked that incarnation of the team, it's probably worth a look.
