The fact that the screen is so very much better on an eInk device than an LCD is reason alone to use one at present. I'm sure that over the next decade, however, screen technologies will emerge which will provide high-quality colour screens that can be read in sunlight, and at that point dedicated reading devices are likely to disappear.
