They are still going to be updated just wont become automagically legal. So will have watermarks about being pirated and getting a license etc.

My Win 10 installation as a 2nd OS corrupted my win 7 installation and my htpc just would not boot gave me the kick I needed to try a Linux OS. Was able to get a few windows apps to run with wine a few I couldn't but am able to use those using virtualbox. Maybe I will reinstall my windows 7 in a years time if I want the win10 license. But this htpc is over 5-6 years old and it seems to run better on linux so maybe I will keep the linux.
