if the books are as they were delivered from amazon to our device, then they contain device specific DRM protection and so they will only work on that device. you need to have amazon deliver them direct to the Kindle fire for them to work there.
there are workrounds for that, which make your books readable on any device - you can find more info on within the calibre forum - but them you may lose other features that are important to you ,like x-ray and whispersync which work with genuine unaltered books from amazon only.
unfortunately , amazon has no bulk send-all-that I-own option for a new device, it's either do it their way and do it one book at a time from amazon to device, or learn how to de-drm with calibre and add-ons, then do a bulk copy from PC to Kindle - either via USB cable or wirelessly with the aid of other apps.
calibre sends to whatever device is connected to PC on USB, or it has wireless device and content server options
