I have to agree on recommending the Amazon earbuds, my pair came with the Fire phone.
I am picky about headphones for music, less so for audiobooks. I've also lost or broken many sets of earbuds, so I've had the opportunity to try many types over the years. Those Amazon earbuds are really very nice, the cord doesn't tangle, they are comfortable and stay in my ears.
If you want something cheaper, the JVC Gumy earbud is pretty durable and sounds more than good enough for audiobooks, although not quite as satisfying for music.
