Do you sideload the whole package or just KoboRoot.tgz on the non-released models?

Edit: I think I answered my own question. On the Mark 4 models, you can use the whole package. Please let me know if I'm wrong about this.

The question now is which version would you use on the Mark 5 models, and do you sideload the whole package or just KoboRoot.tgz?
