Robert Browning, one of the foremost Victorian poets, is noted for such poems as “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came,” “How They Brought the Good News from Ghent to Aix,” “My Last Duchess,” and the work presented here, “The Pied Piper of Hamelin.” His poetry for adults is not easy, but this children's poem is delightful fun, with wonderful jingly rhymes and phrases. Kate Greenaway’s illustrations in soft pastels create an idyllic backdrop for the verse.

This one is fun even for folks who don't care much for poetry. Give it a try.
