Charles:
I just visited your product's web page. I found one part of it extremely disturbing. It says:
Quote:
Got a Mac? The News2PDF downloader was designed for the Microsoft Windows operating system, but you can run Windows on your Mac with Parallels
|
with a link to a cost-ware download for Parallels.
Parallels is a great program. On the (rare) occasions when there's a program I
have to use that is Windows-only, I even use it (on my work Mac, that is). But telling me I have to run Windows to use your program makes it a
complete non-starter.
If I was willing to run Windows on a regular basis, I wouldn't be a Mac user -- I'd just have a Windows box! It's not something I'm prepared to do for any program where I have a choice -- any choice at all -- about using it.
The right thing to tell your potential Mac-using customers is this: The Mac version of News2PDF is in progress. Sign up here to be notified about Beta testing.
Telling us to spend more money to run Windows (typically $79 for Parallels, plus several hundred more for Windows itself) is just an insult.
Grumpily yours,
Xenophon
