convert downloaded website to .mobi?

How can I take a website and make a .mobi file for each of its monthly posts?

I downloaded the site with sitesucker and the file size is 4gigs so that's obviously too big for one .mobi. The downloaded directory structure is set up by year 2007-2015. Within each year there are folders with the months 1-12 (Jan-Dec). Inside each month are about 30 folders and inside each there are folders representing the websites' posts like "don-quixote-roc-riera-rojas." Inside these posts there is an index file which I've tried to add to Calibre, but it stays at 0% progress on the "reading metadata and adding to the library" operation. These files open up fine in Chrome offline, so I know the content is there. Please discuss
