Chasing the Sun by Tracie Peterson is the 1st in her Land of the Lone Star series of f/m historical western romances set in a post-Civil War Texas landscape, this installment dealing with a conflict between a newer settler family and a returning soldier, both of whom have claims to a ranch that was affected by the wartime displacements, free courtesy of Christian publisher Baker's Bethany House imprint.
This one seems to be rather "inspirational" in tone, going from the customer reviews, one of which says that as a Christian reader herself who enjoyed a strong Christian viewpoint, she nevertheless felt that it seemed a bit more on the preachy side than she usually liked. Aside from that, readers also praised the inclusion of Spanish and Comanche characters and culture. YMMV.
