Thanks, chaley. I had the exact same issue as the OP. That latest update fixed it. (That tablet is set up for manual updates only, to prevent online gaming disconnects.)

FWIW, the books in question were some of the few left in my library with no tags or comments. I did not think to check that until after updating, but Companion handled them fine with no data in those fields after the update
