Question: Can I use the POWER button (after long press 15 secs) to restart (a soft reset, similar to the Reset Hole), instead of the more drastic Factory Reset, which would wipe out my data? Then I wouldn't have to worry about removing the device from the case at all (theoretically). I like the look and feel of the case. Even though I just ordered a spare case that is a slide-in sleep/wake less expensive version. Just in case.
I thought that's what I was saying The ONLY thing that should remove your data is a factory reset. There are three ways to initiate on:
  • From off, hold the power button down and tap the bottom corners of the screen will do a factory reset. Everything will be wiped and you will be prompted to set the device up again.
  • From the "Device information" page of the settings.
  • Rebooting four times and nickel not starting properly.

The only other thing is if the database on the device gets corrupted. In that case, it has to be recreated but you don't lose the books.

That wasn't me who said something about the Extended driver - I've never used it, but I think I'll try...
Sorry, mixing the posts up.
