I believe going from the books to the tv show is a step down in the case of Dresden Files, so you wouldn't long too much for season 2. But tastes can be different. I didn't make time to finish season 1, and now it is not availlable for free anymore - prime doesn't have it anymore and I don't have netflix any longer either.
