You will always have a choice, for the people who don't want to convert every ebook one by one or into a batch, and then have to send it to the device (so you have to handle every book twice) it is very good.
In practice you will not send two formats and change every time between epub and kepub, you choose the format you like.
So you put the extended on and use it, or use the default.
The enable or disable is only to be sure that it will be okay.
But you said,it crashes every time at a certain percentage.
Then it is possible that it happens because both plugins are enabled.
I only share the knowledge that others teached me so they don't have to step in every time,it is for the individual person if they want to use it.
You can also make a batch and rename every title to .kepub.epub then the device handle it as kepub and you don't have to convert or enable plugin's or not.
You can make it as difficult or as easy if you want, but handle files twice every time, or every now and then enable or disable a plugin looks like the same amount of time for me..and the plugin does it in the backgrond, you have to do it all yourself ecc..
