KePub files are sent with the extension ".kepub.epub", which is the special extension Kobo devices look for to denote a KePub file and also ends with ".epub" so other readers should pick it up fine.

The double extension gets put there by the Kobo drivers. If you sent them through another driver, the extension would stay as "kepub".
