Then I shortly press the on and off button, the device resets without using the pin.
I don't know for sure if it needs the second long press,maybe it just resets when, after the long press which turn it off,it is shortly pressed but I keep this sequence and it works.

So with the device on,1: keep long pressed until the unit wents off,but keep pressing the button even when it is off.
2. Do the same like you will press it on, the unit doesn't react when you press it long,that is just what we want.
3. Push the on/off button short, the unit resets.
No pin needed
Just to be sure, are you sure this is a reset and not a factory reset?
