Finally got round to reading Rabbit, Run by John Updike, which has been on my TBR (and a previous yearly challenge) for ages. For some reason, maybe the title, I was expecting comedy, or at least humour, but it is actually pretty depressing and a bit dark. Wonderful writing and language, though. Definite contender for the "Great American Novel" title.
