Good Lord, why am I still reading this? Miss Carr has cooked up a lovely pot of contemporary trope soup: start with a base of steampunk, salt it with a little urban fiction, stir in "Bones" with some "Silence of the Lambs" and lovely fresh Joker, and of course, some thickly-sliced Rule 63 Jekyll & Hyde. Throw in some "Dexter" and Arkam for taste.

... At least she has good grammar (and/or an attentive editor).
