With you on the cargo pants. Only pants I wear these days. And since I'm self-employed and work from home with long-standing clients, each of which I've supported for more than 15 years at this point, I'm allowed the luxury of owning a single suit that only comes out at weddings. (And there aren't many of those happening at my age, these days )

Cybmole found a British product that is in the proximity of the needed solution. I'm also looking, through another friend, at a case that isn't Kindle specific, but has the desired dimensions, a hard rim and some structured left-hand storage. I would buy a very cheap case for the PW, cut off the left half and then velcro the remaining bits into this case that my pal THINKS he saw in Office Depot. Not MUCH of a DIY'er, but I see potential in his solution path.
