They've abandoned the ebook market and no longer make ebook readers. What compelling reason would there be to even buy an ebook reader from them - unless, of course, someone wanted to throw away good money on an abandoned ecosystem. (Now that WOULD make sense.)

I was heavily involved in supporting the nook: I bought tablets and ebook readers from them. I still think the nook ebook reader was one of the most comfortable and well-balanced readers on the market - ever.

But they're history, like old clothes that can no longer be adequately cleaned. Sometimes, you just have to throw the things away, wash your hands and face, get past the tears, and go boldly into that beckoning e-market wherein better - and more mature - products now exist.
