@LucyOne - what version of calibre were you using before you installed version 2.30.
As Kovid wrote ". . .start and end of the book list. If not always, then certainly for a very long time." I recall Kovid did do some tidying up in this regard... 2-3 years ago.
I use the keyboard more than most, so I'm also more sensitive to any changes than most. In this regard I've not noticed any.
Shift+Page up/down will select all books above and below current book respectively.
What would you have Shift+Ctrl+Home/End do?
If your new computer has a new keyboard that could also confound you. I often get caught out on other peoples keyboards which don't have keys where I'm habituated to having them.
