How can I remove them from the cloud without risking to delete them from the Kindles?

Books will show up on your Kindle as being in the Cloud or being on the device. "In the Cloud" really means "Not on the device". From the Kindle you can't delete it from the Cloud but if you download it to the device you won't see it in the Cloud on that Kindle. If you haven't downloaded it to the other Kindle you will see it in the Cloud on that Kindle.

If you go to Amazon's Manage Your Content page you'll see all your books whether they're in the Cloud or on the Kindle. You can delete them from there but then you can't read them without buying them again. That's equivalent to tossing a paper book in the trash.

Nothing you can do from your Kindle, as far as I know, can truly delete your book. All you can do is remove it from the device to the Cloud.

I realize I've repeated myself a bit in explaining this but I don't know a clear simple way to state it so this is the best I can do.
