To further confuse things they have also names the actual devices internal storage SDcard so there is a decent chance that's what is confusing you.
On my G3 I have to get to the Micro SD by browsing to
/storage/external_SD/
It may take backtracking a directory or two until you see the storage folder.

Many thanks for the help. What e-reader are you using? I'm trying to use Aldiko and when I fire it up and click on "GET BOOKS>Files" I see nothing called /storage/external_SD/
