It does a lot of what Media Center does.
It reminds me a lot of Calibre; there is an entire ecosystem of plugins that extend it into a lot of areas. (Not all strictly legal in all regions.)

I'm using it as a media player for my Phone and FireTV stick but on PCs it does what XBMC set out to do: serve as an alternative to WMC.
