Screen Problem -Why your Kobo may fail within the year
I bought a Kobo Aura HD in June 2014 which failed in early 2015. Nothing I could do would fix it even with tech support which was very quick and sent over the weekend (I was impressed with that). Tech asked for images of the device and told me it was damaged rather than failed due to manufacturer error. I have been pretty careful with it so was surprised that they said it wasn't covered under warranty. Apparently if the screen looks like it is cracked rether than just lines, it is a big problem.
I decided to take it apart to find out the cause.

As you can see the glass screen is broken

What I was amazed with was the completely fragile nature of this screen and when you look at the thickness you will realise why
I put a piece of the screen on a credit card.[Image violates posting guidelines - MODERATOR]
Just look at how thin it is

Warning Frgile
It seems that the kobo screen is thin, fragile, and not at all robust.
I would strongly recommend looking at other manufactuers.
I did not get a refund
very poor in my opinion
