i have Kindles and Kobos. These include a Kindle Voyage and a Paperwhite 2 and a Paperwhite 1 and a Kobo Aura and a Kobo Glo and a Kobo Mini. I don't have the new Kobo Glo HD.

Each of these has something I like about it more than the others. All in all I find myself reading more often with Kindles, especially the Voyage now that I have it. But the truth is that I don't really care that much which one I use. Probably the one I like least is the Kobo Glo and I like it a lot. If it was my only ereader I'd be perfectly content.

On the other side I probably like the Kindle Voyage most. Once I'm reading though, it's the book that matters. I forget what reader I'm using. It really doesn't matter that much.

The one I use least is the Kobo Mini because it doesn't have a lighted screen. Having a front-lighted screen makes a huge difference to me. All the others have that. Frankly, if the Mini had a lighted screen I doubt I'd even use the others. I like how small and light it is.

As for converting epubs to Mobi you can install Calibre and either bulk convert or convert files individually, which is what I do. The entire process from the time I decide to convert a book to the time I have the conversion takes less than a minute and most of that is starting up Calibre and dragging the book into it. The conversion itself usually takes about 10 to 20 seconds and since it's all set up all I have to do is hit C for convert and click okay. It's really that simple.
