My personal preference is to wrap the image so it is automatically displayed full screen on any of my ereaders regardless of screen resolution. I also like using the 16 level grey scale plugin with GIMP as a very handy tool for converting full colour to 4 bit to save some space. Though I did think when I left CGA video behind that I would no longer need to worry about dithering.
