can you give more information about how to re-attach the switch?

i just started having some problems with mine, i'm using my damaged reader while waiting for my new one to come in Jan.

I looked at it more carefully just now and noticed that the top of the reader where the switch is bulges slightly and the cover does not fit well anymore and pops off easily, which suggests to me that some change of shape as gone on!

i've read on the forum, how tough the reader is generally, but mine just seems disintegrating in front of me!

is there anyway to switch on and off the reader without having to go through the switch?
